The Countdown Begins…
It’s November already, and that means I only have about eight weeks left of school for the semester. It also means that’s how much time I have to finish both my thesis and a novella for my short forms class. I’m excited to see the finish line on the horizon, and I’m also hyperventilating a little bit at how many words I still need to write!
My thesis novel, The Dragon Dancer of Krysh, is the longest book I’ve ever written. It will top out at over 100k words, and I’ve already realized it will be the first book in new series. Because of the fantasy elements, I’ll be publishing this one under my given name, Tabitha Lord, but I can’t wait to share it with all of you. I think you’ll enjoy the spicy romance part of this ‘romantasy,’ and I promise the hot, hunky hero falls hard for the leading lady. I like our hero so much that I’ve decided to write his backstory as my short forms project, which I plan to release as a companion novella to the longer books at some point.
Next semester, in addition to editing my thesis, the focus of class will be on marketing, promotions, and publishing, something I have a little experience with! I’ll be using the opportunity to refresh my author platforms and make a publishing plan for the ever-growing collection of manuscripts waiting eagerly on deck.
In other news…
Ray and I are currently in Orange, California, where we spent Halloween at Disneyland with our oldest son and daughter-in-law. Halloween has always held special meaning for us since it’s the anniversary of both our first date and the day we got engaged! We’ll be here through Thanksgiving, where we’ll be cooking up a storm with the kids. On my next post, I’ll be sure to share some of my favorite recipes.
Until next time, wishing you a peaceful and productive week!
