Maggie’s Musings

As promised, I’ve updated this blog to function as more of a newsletter, with professional updates and some space for personal reflection. It took me a little extra time to get this first communication out to you because a week ago Sunday, our beautiful kitty Milo crossed the rainbow bridge. She’s been with our family for almost seventeen years, and we are missing her terribly. Her sweet personality and loving soul were a constant, gentle presence in our tiny space. Anyone who has lost a beloved pet knows how hard it is to let them go and how empty it feels when they are gone. We’re still having some very big feelings around here, and I suspect we will for a while, but our daughter reminded us that we’re hurting so badly because we were blessed to love her so much.

In book news, school is back in session and I am hard at work on my thesis. It’s an epic fantasy romance featuring a fiesty feathered dragon, a swoony couple, lots of magic, and a really nasty villain. The draft should be finished by December. If you’d like a sneak peek, you can read the opening scene HERE. With my focus on school, it’s certainly taken me longer than intended to finish the next book in the TSI series, but I’m pleased to announce that over break, I finished drafting the next two books in the series! They still need some editing, and I haven’t started the production process yet, but they will be released early in the new year.

In other news, Ray and I finished our tour of the lower forty-eight states last month. When we woke up in Idaho, we were able to put the last sticker on our travel map. It’s been quite an adventure, and we still have some destinations bookmarked to visit, but we’ve made so many memories and visited so many cool, interesting places that I have to look at my my photos to remember it all. Speaking of photos, be sure to check out my Instagram page @tabithalord for some fabulous pics and videos, including one of a bear encounter in Glacier National Park. I promise I’m not zooming in with the camera. He was really that close!

Until next time, wishing you a peaceful and productive day!
